Earlier MCE Motihari was known as Indian College of Engineering and it was started in 1980. In 1986 the college was taken over by the government of Bihar and all the students and teachers were transferred to other engineering colleges. Further, in 2008 Bihar government reopen the college and name was changed to MCE Motihari.
The institute offers various facilities for students including placement training, Medical Facilities, Hostel Facilities, Sports Facilities. The campus of the institute is environment-friendly.
