Admission Procedure Integrated Ph.D. Program
1. Admission procedure for integrated Ph.D. in Chemical Science
The School of Chemical Science of IACS Kolkata in collaboration with Calcutta University offers an integrated Ph.D. program in Chemical Science. The admission to the integrated Ph.D. program in Chemical Sciences is carried out based on the entrance test and personal interview conducted by the IACS.
Eligibility Criteria
A) Eligibility For General Candidates
- Minimum 60% marks or equivalent in 10 and 10+2 levels
- B.Sc. in Chemistry Honours with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent in Chemistry-Honours paper only with as subsidiary subjects Physics and Mathematics. If a candidate has a B.Sc. degree from a university that does not offer Honours degree at the B.Sc level, then he/she needs overall 60% aggregate marks or equivalent in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
B) Eligibility For Reserved Candidates
- Minimum 55% marks or equivalent in 10 and 10+2 levels
- B.Sc. in Chemistry Honours with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent in Chemistry-Honours paper only with as subsidiary subjects Physics and Mathematics. If a candidate has a B.Sc. degree from a university that does not offer Honours degree at the B.Sc level, then he/she needs overall 55% aggregate marks or equivalent in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
Admission Procedure
Eligible candidates will be short-listed and will be called for the written test. Further, short-listed candidates on the basis of their performance in the written test will be called for the personal interview, and the final selection will be made based on their performance in the personal interview.
2. Admission Procedure for Integrated PhD in Biological Science
The School of Biological Science of IACS Kolkata in collaboration with the IIT Kharagpur offers an integrated Ph.D. program in Biological Sciences. The admission for an integrated Ph.D. program in Biological Sciences is carried out based on the entrance test and personal interview conducted by the IACS.
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum 60% marks or equivalent in 10 and 10+2 levels
- B.Sc. degree in any branch of Life science or Chemistry with 60% aggregate marks (including all subjects in B.Sc. level) for General/OBC-NCL candidates and 55% aggregate marks (including all subjects in B.Sc. level) for ST/SC/PwD candidates.

Eligible candidates will be short-listed and will be called for the written test. Further, short-listed candidates will be called for the personal interview on the basis of the performance in the written test, and final selection will be made based on the performance in the personal interview.

The School of Physical Sciences of IACS Kolkata in collaboration with Jadavpur University offers the integrated Ph.D. program in Physical Sciences. The admission for an integrated Ph.D. program in Physical Sciences is carried out based on the entrance test and personal interview conducted by the IACS.
